Craig's Betting Blog - 2YO Horse Racing Tips : 2:10 Beverley (10th May)

The race started, decent enough start, Jason Hart had him covered nicely tanking along, Pride Of Yorkshire who I expected to lead was going backwards already in what turned out to be a run that looks too bad to be true, meanwhile a few were getting niggled and JM Jungle was going well enough. Come on! It looked like I had a place at least, all of a sudden no gap and Jason had to switch inside losing ground, coming to the last furlong Jason was getting a tune out of the Bungleinthejungle colt up the rail, Legend Of Xanadu took it up and looked to have it until one last thrust by Jason and JM Jungle at the line, I wasn’t sure if he’d got up or not, yessss he had, get the fuck in, Jesus I needed that win. I mean it might sound dramatic but when you question yourself then pull one out the bag it’s a relief. Betting bank looks good again plus points for the month back up, normal service resumed.

Trackers:

19.00 Newcastle 10 May

The three-year-old trackers have been hit and miss so the David Simcock trained Adjourn could be one I will sit out and watch. The 135,000 gns breeze up purchase has run twice already last season. The son of Postponed was second on his debut before stepping up on that effort when finishing fifth in a decent maiden at Newmarket last September. He still looked a bit green that day and still managed to stick to it and looks like one who will run better since being gelded.

14.10 Beverley 10 May

Trackers: Teatime Tipple and Ramazan.

I mean a tough race to take on here with a mix of everything, not much time so a quick one.

Professor Pesca £60,000 yearling for Kevin Ryan, dam unraced. Trainer has a  15 percent win strike rate over the past five years with newcomers at Beverley. Market should be key, strong claims if positive and over 10s negative.

Sanks A Million for Loughnane, another with an unraced dam. Another if strong in betting first timeout a positive.

Treble Glory cost a few quid for Nigel Tinkler. 80,000 gns yearling who comes from a nice family. Doesn’t get many fto winners, last year two out of twenty five runners. Can pop up with a big price winner.

Alexa’s Princess for Karl Burke. Had three fto winners already, both strong in the market. Has a good place strike rate here so it’s interesting to see the market.

Ey Up Let’s Go for Tony Coyle, winners in the family, one negative doesn’t get many fto winners, did have one called That’s A Surprise back in 2017 who was well supported.

Onto the experienced ones, Teatime Tipple sets the standard having already run twice, finished sixth in the Brocklesby, the form has worked out well and the Tony Coyle gelding finished second on his next start to another nice type in Star Of Lady M. Teatime Tipple still looked green at Ripon and needs to settle better.

Miss Mai Tai for Robert Cowell, second timeout Prince Of Lir filly who made her debut at Nottingham last month. A 150/1 shot that day but was away quickly enough looking professional, didn’t have the best draw that day, owners Cool Silk Partnership always seem to pop up with a nice one now and again, added to that Cowell does have decent strike rate here, if support for the Prince Of Lir filly comes it could be interesting.

Signora Camacho for Quinn who of course gave me a much-needed winner with JM Jungle the other day. Signora was a bit slow away on debut and bumped, definitely outpaced which is a worry but did find her feet and was finishing well, wasn’t beaten too far by the well thought of Jungle Time. As I said last time this is John Quinn’s best month.

Richard Fahey runner Ramazan is a tracker I like, same as Signora Camacho slowly away on debut in a four runner field and ridden to join the pack before staying on up the Pontefract hill without getting near the impressive winner Yahsat. Even though it was a four runner field I have a feeling they could be alright, JM Jungle finished third that day and a winner since.

Conclusion: I would love to see Miss Mai Tai supported here as she didn’t run like an 150/1 shot at Nottingham, no early support as yet. The market isn’t changing much at the minute. I may well cash out if very weak in the betting. Ramazan cost 130,000 euros for Richard Fahey and is one I’m interested in here with the form working out well in his debut race. Hopefully he is quicker out the blocks today. As I said it’s a tough race but I’m willing to do a few pennies on Ramazan each way 5s, if taking a big walk in the betting would be a worry. Newcomer Professor Pesca is the early market leader here and the yard won this with Aleezdancer last year who had already run once. I could be letting one slip here but Signora definitely needs to be a lot quicker out the stalls. I’ve had an ew bet on Miss Mai Tai at 22/1 but will cash out if no support.

Tracker update:

Couple of winners yesterday with Fragrance and Cathy Come Home which I noted on my twitter page.

Thanks for reading and support as always.
