El Clasico Sunday’s headline act

Carlo Ancelotti

Real Madrid and Barcelona (25/1 – La Liga outright) lock horns at the Santiago Bernabeu at 20:00 on Sunday for a highly-anticipated El Clasico, while there is also the Derby della Capitale to get stuck into in Serie A.

It’s a busy day of action in Spain’s top-flight, with Espanyol’s home clash against Mallorca at 13:00 the first of five matches taking place, while Cadiz against Villarreal and Celta Vigo versus Real Betis both get under way at 15:15.

At 17:30, title-chasing Sevilla, who are second in the table and 10 points behind Los Blancos, play host to Champions League hopefuls Real Sociedad, who are only four points off fourth position.

Then comes the big one at 20:00, the El Clasico between Real and Barcelona. The hosts are on a five-game winning streak across all competitions, a run that includes a Champions League last-16 win over PSG, while the Catalans haven’t tasted defeat in their last 11 outings.

Madrid have had the beating of their fierce rivals in recent times, winning the last five meetings, and Carlo Ancelotti’s men are 5/4 to claim all three points on home soil, while the draw is priced at 12/5 and the visitors are 11/5 to triumph.

La Liga Betting Odds

Moving from Spain to Italy and arguably the biggest match of the day kicks off at 17:00 at the Stadio Olimpico, as Roma face off against Italy in the Derby della Capitale (Match betting – Roma 13/8, Draw 11/5, Lazio 9/5).

Lazio are one point and two places better off than Roma and Maurizio Sarri’s men head into the fixture in good form, having won both of their last two matches to nil.

However, they take on a Roma side that are on a seven-game unbeaten streak across all competitions and this could be a tight affair between two teams still battling for a top-four finish.

In Sunday’s late game in Serie A, which kicks off at 19:45, Champions League-chasing Atalanta make the trip to mid-table Bologna (Match betting – Bologna 10/3, Draw 13/5, Atalanta 17/20).
