Hull FC boss Brett Hodgson believes his trio of new signings can slot in straight away as they face local rivals Hull KR at St James’ Park in the last match of Magic Weekend (Match Betting – Hull KR 5/6, Hull FC 11/10, Tie 18/1).
The Black and Whites are currently going through something of an injury crisis and Hodgson has moved quickly to bolster his options.
Full-back Jack Walker has arrived on a short-term loan deal from Leeds Rhinos as he seeks to build up match fitness following an injury lay-off of his own.
Second-row Ellis Longstaff is also in the door at the MKM Stadium after joining from Warrington Wolves while Josh Simm came from St Helens.
The Airlie Birds sit sixth in the table but are on a bad run of form due to those fitness concerns and arrive into Magic Weekend on the back of four straight defeats, including a 62-16 thumping at the hands of the Rhinos last time out.

Their opponents KR are in bad form themselves, having lost three in a row, including a 28-6 defeat at bottom club Toulouse.
Hodgson is adamant that fresh blood can lift his side ahead of the second derby of the season.
“They’re good kids and three players that can contribute to our group in a positive way,” Hodgson said.
“They’re young, they’ve got that youthful exuberance and even when something goes wrong they don’t let it effect them. They have that little bit of Super League experience which we’re lacking a little bit of at the minute.”
Elsewhere, Catalans Dragons could move up to second place if they defeat Daryl Powell’s struggling Warrington Wolves (Match Betting – Catalans 4/9, Warrington 19/1o, Tie 22/1) who are tenth and need the points to step further away from the relegation battle.
Huddersfield Giants will look to cement their top-four spot further as they face Salford Red Devils (Match Betting – Huddersfield 2/5, Salford 11/5, Tie 20/1) who have won back-to-back games but are down in eighth place in the Betfred Super League table.
