Kidd taking it one step at a time

NBA Betting Odds: Celtics turn up the Heat on Miami

Dallas Mavericks (33/1 – NBA Championship Outright Winner) coach Jason Kidd admits his side need to conjure up a winning performance on the road after they managed to keep the Western Conference Finals series against Golden State Warriors alive.

Trailing 3-0 heading into Game 4, Dallas, spearheaded by 30-point hero Luka Doncic, managed to pull off a 119-109 victory at the American Airlines Center to keep themselves in the hunt for NBA glory.

Although reducing the deficit to two, the Mavericks still face a tough challenge to reach the finals given the fact no team in the NBA’s 75-year history has come back from 3-0 down to win a best-of-seven play-off series.

Kidd’s men travel to Golden State for Game 5 in the early hours of Friday (Warriors 3/10, Mavericks 5/2 – Money Line) and although accepting the magnitude of the task at hand, the Dallas chief is still holding out hope of a comeback.

“We believe it’s just one game at a time, we did our part tonight and found a way to win,” he said. “The next part is to find a way to win on the road. We can’t get ahead of ourselves.

“It’s still 3-1 and Golden State is a tough place to play. But we’ve won there before. We just have to take care of the ball and make shots.”

Before that clash at the Chase Center, Miami Heat and Boston Celtic renew their Eastern Conference Finals rivalry when they go head-to-head in Game 5 of their series at the FTX Arena.

The scores are locked at 2-2 in what has been a thrilling battle, although the Heat will still be confident of progressing, as two of the final three games will be played on their home court.

Despite being on the road, Boston are 8/11 favourites to pick up the win on the Money Line on Friday against 11/10 Miami, who are aiming to win the NBA Championship for the first time since 2013.
