England midfielder Kalvin Phillips says he wants his side to emulate their Euro 2020 success by beating Germany in their Nations League clash (Match betting – Germany 5/4, Draw 23/10, England 12/5).
The Three Lions got their Nations League off to a poor start on Sunday as they went down 1-0 to Hungary in Budapest.
It was a disappointing display (Nations League outright – England 9/1, Germany 7/1) from Gareth Southgate’s side, who lacked any real spark on the evening, as Dominik Szoboszlai’s penalty in the second half proved to be decisive for the hosts.
Southgate opted to go with a slightly experimental line-up with Jarrod Bowen and James Justin earning their debuts, while the likes of Jude Bellingham and Trent Alexander-Arnold were thrown in from the start.
However, he is expected to revert to a proper first-choice XI against Die Mannschaft in Munich on Tuesday.
England were victorious 2-0 against their great rivals last summer with Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane’s goals enough to secure the win at Wembley.

Now, they travel to face Hansi Flick’s side, who got their Nations League stint under way with a 1-1 draw at Euro 2020 winners Italy.
Since taking over from Joachim Low in the summer, Flick has a near flawless record, winning eight and drawing two of his ten games in charge.
Speaking ahead of the game, Leeds United schemer Phillips says England will be ready for Germany and believes they will be ready to play against a different style to Hungary.
“We know we’re going to come up against difficult teams, who are going to defend well against us,” he said, in relation to Saturday’s opponents.
“I think Germany are the total opposite. They’re going to attack us and try and get in behind us and create a lot of chances.
“As long as we defend well I don’t think we’ve got a problem.”
