Arsenal have confirmed manager Mikel Arteta has signed a new contract at the Emirates Stadium as the club looks to solidify their hold on fourth place in the Premier League (Arsenal 2/5 Top 4 Finish).
The Spaniard was handed the reigns in north London in December 2019 as he replaced Unai Emery following a failed spell in charge.
After a slow start, Arteta seems to have found his feet at the Emirates, with the Gunners fourth in the table, two points ahead of arch rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
The former Everton and Arsenal midfielder has now signed a new deal until the end of the 2024/25 campaign, and he says he wants to take the club to the next level.

He told reporters: “We want to take the club to the next level and to compete really with the top teams. In order to do that, we have to be playing in the Champions League.
“We have to be able to evolve the team, improve our players, improve all departments, generate even more connection with our fans, improve the atmosphere at the Emirates, be able to recruit top, top talent and the best people for this club to drive this project to that level.”
Arsenal are next in action against Leeds United on Sunday (Arsenal 4/9, Draw 19/5, Leeds 11/2 – Match Betting), a match which has implications at both ends of the table.
The Whites are in desperate need of three points as they try to avoid the drop, while Arsenal need to keep winning to keep their top-four hopes alive.
Ben White, a former loanee at Leeds, is a doubt due to a hamstring injury, while Kieran Tierney and Thomas Partey remain sidelined.
Leeds boss Jesse Marsch will be without Stuart Dallas, Adam Forshaw, Crysencio Summerville, Tyler Roberts and Patrick Bamford, but Liam Cooper should be fit to start.
