Nottingham Forest (10/11 to stay up) have completed the club-record signing of striker Taiwo Awoniyi from Bundesliga outfit Union Berlin.
The 24-year-old has joined the club for a fee reported to be around £17million as Forest embark on their first Premier League season since 1999.
He has penned a five-year deal at the club and will compete with the like of Lewis Grabban for a place in the starting XI.
Awoniyi began his career at Liverpool but never made an appearance for the Reds before departing for Berlin on loan in 2020 after numerous temporary spells elsewhere.
His move was made permanent in the summer of 2021 and he had a very productive season last year for Union Berlin.
Across all competitions, he scored 20 goals in 43 matches as Union finished fifth in the Bundesliga and played in the group stages of the Europa Conference League.

Awoniyi also made his Nigeria debut last season and has gone on to win four caps, netting his first goal against Sudan in the Africa Cup of Nations.
The forward says he is achieving a career ambition by moving to Forest, becoming Steve Cooper’s (pictured) first acquisition of the summer.
“It’s always been my dream to play in the Premier League,” said Awoniyi.
“Having spoken to [Forest boss] Steve Cooper about our ambitions and looking at Forest, with its great history, it’s a club that I want to be part of.”
Elsewhere, fellow promoted outfit Bournemouth (6/5 to stay up) have also strengthened their squad with the addition of Blackburn midfielder Joe Rothwell.
The 27-year-old was out of contract at Ewood Park and moves to the Vitality Stadium on a free transfer.
Rothwell was linked with a move to the Cherries in January but now makes the move after scoring three goals in 43 games last season.
The former Manchester United youth product has signed a four-year deal.
