Rhinos rocked by Leeming blow

Betfred Super League Odds: Hodgson forced to tinker

Leeds Rhinos have been hit by the news skipper Kruise Leeming will miss Saturday’s Magic Weekend clash with rivals Castleford Tigers with a foot injury (Leeds 4/6, Tie 20/1, Castleford 5/4 – Match Betting).

The Leeds hooker suffered a foot injury in the 62-16 dismantling of Hull FC in their last Betfred Super League outing last Saturday.

Leeming has been a standout performer for the Rhinos since the arrival of new head coach Rohan Smith and his absence will be felt as Leeds (33/1 Grand Final Winner) head to Newcastle’s St James’ Park to face West Yorkshire rivals Cas.

Brad Dwyer, who has been left out for the last two games, has been named in the squad for the trip to the north east, while fellow hooker Corey Johnson has also been selected.

Castleford (20/1 Grand Final Winner) are in the same boat as Leeds, with their hooker and captain Paul McShane also set to miss Saturday’s encounter.

However, McShane is not injured and misses out on a one-game suspension, as does team-mate Nathan Massey.

With stand-off Jake Trueman having being ruled out for the rest of the season with a serious knee injury sustained in last week’s victory over the Huddersfield Giants, it means both Cas and Leeds go into this derby clash needing their fringe players to rise to the occasion.

The West Yorkshire rivalry game is the finale to Saturday’s action, starting at 19:00, with Wakefield facing Toulouse at 14:30 before St Helens take on Wigan in a top-of-the-table clash.

There are also three matches on Sunday with Huddersfield opening up proceedings against Salford at 13:00, before Catalans Dragons play Warrington Wolves at 15:15 with the Hull derby completing the weekend fare at 17:30 (Hull KR 5/6, Tie 18/1, Hull FC 21/20 – Match Betting).
