Defender Djed Spence says it’s “a dream come true” after completing a £20million move from Middlesbrough to Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur (14/1 Premier League Outright).
The 21-year-old caught the eye during a season-long loan spell at Nottingham Forest in 2021/22, playing 46 games across all competitions as they won promotion to the Premier League and reached the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
Forest were initially keen to make his loan move permanent but interest from some of the more established top-flight clubs saw the newly-promoted club fall by the wayside.
Tottenham (8/11 Top Four Finish) soon emerged as the frontrunners to snap up the exciting right wing-back and they officially announced the deal on Tuesday.
Spurs have handed over a five-year contract and paid Boro an initial £12.5million with a potential £7.5million in performance-related add-ons.

Spence told Tottenham’s official website: “I bring excitement, skill, speed. I just want to excite the fans and play well.
“Last year was a great season, the stuff of dreams really.
“To play in the Premier League is a dream come true.
“I am just thankful that I have got here and I am going to get an opportunity to play in the Premier League at a big club like Tottenham.”
Spence, who was named in the EFL Championship Team of the Season and the PFA Championship Team of the Year for 2021/22, is Tottenham’s sixth signing of the summer as Antonio Conte (pictured) looks to improve on last term’s fourth-place finish.
Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma and Richarlison have all been drafted in on permanent deals with Clement Lenglet agreeing a loan move from Barcelona.
Tottenham begin the 2022/23 campaign on August 6 with a home fixture against Southampton (Match Betting – Tottenham 4/11, Draw 19/5, Southampton 7/1).
