Wimbledon Betting Odds: Kyrgios given title backing

Defending champion Novak Djokovic secured his spot in the second round on day one of Wimbledon, while there were also victories for British trio Andy Murray, Cameron Norrie and Emma Raducanu.

Djokovic (8/11 to win the title – outright) beat Kwon Soon-woo 6-3 3-6 6-3 6-4 under the Centre Court roof, and he is now on his way to a potential seventh title at SW19, which would take him one behind Roger Federer.

He will now face Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis in the second round, and both Murray and Norrie will join him.

Murray maintained his record of never losing in the first round at Wimbledon, as he beat James Duckworth of Australia 4-6 6-3 6-2 6-4. He will now face American John Isner in the second round on Wednesday.

Norrie beat Spain’s Pablo Andujar 6-0 7-6 (7-3) 6-4, and the ninth seed will hope to continue that form as he tries to reach the second week of a Grand Slam for the first time.

Emma Raducanu says she “cherished every moment” as she overcame a nervous start to beat Alison van Uytvanck 6-4 6-4. World number two Ons Jabeur was also victorious on the opening day of this year’s Championships, as she beat qualifier Mirjam Bjorklund, 6-1, 6-3.

On Tuesday, seven-time champion Serena Williams makes her singles comeback as she tackles France’s Harmony Tan (Williams 2/7, Tan 5/2 – match result).

Rafael Nadal (7/1 to win Wimbledon – outright) will meet Francisco Cerundolo, while Italian Matteo Berrettini will take on Cristian Garin of Chile.

World number one Iga Swiatek will also play on Tuesday, along with Simona Halep, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Dan Evans.
