It’s an action-packed day of racing across the UK and Ireland on Friday 22nd July, with day one of the King George meeting at Ascot attracting lots of attention.

First up on Friday is a seven-race card at Uttoxeter, the action running from 13:00 until 16:25, and Betfred’s extra place promotion is available to utilise on the 13:35 – a 1m 7f 168y event that last-time-out winner Agent Saonois is 5/1 to triumph in.

It’s off to North Yorkshire next for a seven-race offering at Thirsk (13:10-16:35) and the finale – the Next Meeting @thirskraces Saturday 30th July Handicap – also benefits from an extra place being paid out in it.

The focus then switches to the opening day of the King George meeting at Ascot and they will go off seven times in Berkshire, the opener scheduled for 13:55 and the finale – which is covered by the extra place promotion – set for 17:25.

The Slingsby Gin Handicap at 16:50 benefits from being Betfred’s Super Extra Place Race, which has four places on offer instead of three for each-way bets at a fifth of the odds, and the Richard Spencer-trained Mr Big Stuff is 15/8 to claim the spoils.

Of the other potential contenders in this 11-runner field, the Ryan Moore-ridden Al Zahar has form figures of 2-1312 and is 9/4 to come out on top, while Love Mystery was second last time out and is 9/1 to go one better.

It’s over to Ireland next for Cork’s seven-race card, the action going from 17:15 until 20:15, and there is an extra place to take advantage of in the Follow Us On Social Media Handicap at 17:45.

The focus then turns back to English soil for another seven races at York (17:20-20:25) and there are extra places on offer in the 18:25, 19:25, 19:55 and the finale, while the opener is the Super Extra Place Race.

A total of 11 runners will be battling it out in that first race on the Knavesmire and there is a three-way log-jam at the top of the betting, with Liamarty Dreams, Eeetee and Brazen Bolt all priced at 9/2.

Down Royal is up next for the second and final meeting in Ireland, with seven races scheduled from 17:30 until 20:30 and there is an extra place to make the most of on the 18:00.

The penultimate meeting of the day is a seven-race card from Newmarket (17:40-20:40) before the action concludes with six races from Chepstow (18:05-20:35), with the 19:05 and 20:05 covered by the extra place promotion.
