Today's Horse Racing Odds: Saturday 16th April

It’s a busy Bank Holiday Monday of racing action across the UK and Ireland with jumps meetings at Warwick, Kempton and Down Royal, while Bath, Beverley, Windsor and the Curragh hold Flat events.

Kempton is the first meeting to get underway at 13:00 and there are seven races there this afternoon, finishing up with the 16:30.

In the 15:55 at Kempton, Grade 1 winner Diego Du Charmil (9/2) will attempt to get Paul Nicholls up and running for the new season, while the likes of Light N Strike (10/3) and Joe Tizzard’s Slate House (7/2) are other contenders.

Bath’s seven-race card begins at 13:21 and runs until the 16:51, while the action at Beverley, where there are also seven races, is on today between 13:31 and 17:01.

In the second contest at Beverley, due off at 14:06, Betfred’s ‘Free Bet If Second’ promotion is available and it’s a race in which Desert Team (6/4), making her turf debut, will look to follow up in after winning her novice race at Wolverhampton last time out.

Windsor stages seven races today, between 14:16 and 17:45, and the meeting at Warwick starts at 14:25 and the seventh and final race there today is due off at 17:50.

In Ireland, the Curragh’s feature race is the Group 2 Mooresbridge Stakes at 16:05 and Aidan O’Brien, who has won eight of the last 10 renewals, will hope for more success with High Definition (7/2), although Layfayette (3/1) may well have other ideas for Noel Meade’s yard after he got the better of O’Brien’s charge in the Alleged Stakes when the pair last met and will hope for a repeat performance later.

The other Irish meeting today at Down Royal has seven races between 14:00 and 17:30.
