Today's Horse Racing Odds: Friday 13th May

There are seven race meetings scheduled to take place across the UK and Ireland on Thursday as June draws to a close.

Haydock’s seven-race card will be the first port of call, with the action on Merseyside getting underway at 13:00 and concluding at 16:00, with the finale also benefiting from Betfred’s ‘Extra Place’ promotion.

Further north in Perth, jumps fare will take centre stage as they go to post for seven races between 13:40-16:40. Again Betfred’s ‘Extra Place’ offer will come into play, this time for the 16:10 Handicap Chase.

Gordon Elliott is a trainer that has enjoyed plenty of success at Perth, as he boasts a 40 per-cent strike-rate at the track over the last 12 months, and the Cullentra handler has several runners set to go to post on Thursday, including Ash Tree Meadow (6/4) in the 14:40 and Getaway Goldie (5/4) in the 15:40.

There will also be an afternoon start from Yarmouth, where they go to post for seven races from 13:50-16:50, before we head across to Ireland for a double-header of evening action from Bellewstown and Tipperary.

Bellewstown’s eight-race card will get underway first at 16:35, with the finale from the County Meath track scheduled for 20:30, while Tipperary will host seven races between 17:00-20:20.

Betfred’s ‘Extra Place’ promotion will be prominent at both meetings, with the races at 17:10, 17:45, 18:20 and 20:00 from Bellewstown all set to benefit from the offer, as will Tipperary’s races at 17:35, 19:20 and 19:50.

The penultimate card of the day takes us back across the Irish Sea to Newbury for a seven-race offering from 17:20-20:40, with the 20:08 Handicap from the Berkshire track seeing Betfred’s ‘Free Bet if 2nd’ offer come into play.

Fittingly given its association with June, Epsom will round off the month’s action with a seven-race card from 18:01-20:50, with Betfred’s ‘Extra Place’ promotion available for the races at 19:11 and 20:15, while the final race of the meeting will benefit from the ‘Free Bet if 2nd’ offer.

That finale could see Dominic Ffrench Davis’ Boy George (4/1) run well, as he has won on two of his last three starts, although he must overcome a wide draw if he is to prevail once more.
