Wimbledon Betting Odds: Back the Brits?

New feature .... our columnists are on the case

If we feel there’s something of note happening during the day – ‘we’ being the Betfred columnists at HQ – then henceforth we’ll be flagging it up accordingly.

Reckon you can never have enough opinions and advice from which to make sound judgements of your own, so we’ll be chipping in on a fairly regular basis in a bid to add to the fun for us, and far more importantly, you.

We’re two-for-two so far, with my colleagues Alan and Owen both tipping up winners last week at Tipperary and Sandown, so I’m aiming to make it a hat-trick today. A tough act to follow!

I’m moving away from the racing and turning the attention to Wimbledon, which of course moves into the second week today.

My focus has a firm British interest as Harriet Dart and Heather Watson are in Women’s Doubles round of 16 action against the number four seeds Lyudmyla Kichenok and Jelena Ostapenko.

The Brits are 5/2 chances at the time of trading to advance to the last eight, and I’d say they’d have a decent chance as they’ve not dropped a set up until this point. They also knocked out the number 13 seeds in the previous round.

They’re scheduled to be in action at around 11:00, provided there’s no rain delays on Court 3, so let’s hope they do the business!
